Annette Brooke MP with Teresa May MP and Lord Filkin, Minister for Children
Speaking at the launch of the Manifesto for Children, compiled by The Children's Society, NSPCC, NCH, Barnardo's and Save the Children, at the House of Commons, Annette Brooke MP and Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Children said;
"The organisations that have compiled the manifesto are all leading in their fields of child protection and support and should be listened to by government. This government has made a lot of progress in improving the welfare of children, but there is still a lot of 'Room for Improvement'."
"I feel proud of the Liberal Democrat's commitment to putting children at the heart of policy and policy making, and I have supported for many of these recommendations during Committees and in my voting."
"Vulnerable children are just that, vulnerable and they need extra support - including if they are children of refugees, children in care or children in trouble with the law. They should have the right to protection and care under the law, and treatment rather than punishment."
