Annette Brooke Thanking her Supporters

Thanking those supporters in attendance at the meeting, Annette Brooke said:

"It has been a great honour and a privilege to serve Mid Dorset and North Poole since 2001 as your MP. When I was elected, my main ambition was always to be a good constituency MP and I am pleased to have helped very many people and to have been involved in so many of the events and activities in the area."

"Liberal Democrats want to run a positive election campaign and really do want to talk up the successes that Britain can be proud of. Political campaigning should not focus on people's fears."

Mark Oaten, the Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Home Affairs and candidate in Winchester, attended the meeting and highlighted some of Annette's achievements during the past four years as Member of Parliament.

In particular, Mark acknowledged her hard work as a constituency MP, her work in Westminster on both the Education and Home Affairs teams and her tireless involvement in the community.

Mark said: "The Liberal Democrats are consistently polling over 20% in the polls and are widely expected to make significant gains at the General Election. Political analysts expect Labour to win with a much smaller majority. The Liberal Democrats have proven themselves to be an effective and hardworking opposition party, both in Westminster and locally."

If you are a resident of the constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
