Dorset ice cream producer launches product at the House of Commons, with support from local MP Annette Brooke

March 20, 2006 6:00 PM

Local MP Annette Brooke is supporting the Dorset-based company Purbeck Ice Cream in its bid to supply its award-winning ice creams and sorbets to the House of Commons.

Annette Brooke has introduced a parliamentary motion in support of Purbeck Ice Cream as it prepares for a tasting day at the House of Commons this week.

Purbeck Ice Cream has found success as a small-scale farm-based company, with its products now available throughout Dorset and in scores of shops and restaurants country-wide including at Kew Gardens and Harvey Nichols. The company is renowned for its natural, farm-made products and innovative flavours, including Champagne & Strawberry and Chilli Red.

All Purbeck Ice Cream uses ingredients which are GM-free and without artificial flavourings, preservatives or colours as well as no additional natural colours. The company also recycles approximately 95% of its waste.

Annette Brooke said:

"I am delighted to support Purbeck Ice Cream as it represents both Dorset and other small and innovative businesses around the country.

"It is wonderful to see such an environmentally conscious business thrive, and I hope that we will soon be able to savour the delights of their ice cream here at the House of Commons."

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
