May 9, 2006 2:04 PM

The May 4th local elections saw Councillors David Budd and Michael Peacock successfully defend their seats against the Conservatives. Despite a hard fought campaign in both wards, local residents voted for the positive attitude which David Budd and Michael Peacock have shown in their work all year round.

Annette Brooke, David and Yvonne Budd hear the good news in Wareham.

David Budd was particularly pleased to be returned with an increased majority which is the highest ever achieved by a Liberal Democrat on Purbeck District Council. Michael Peacock held his seat only 10 months after winning last years By-Election and now has a further 4 years in which he will work hard for the residents of Lytchett Matravers.

Annette Brooke, who campaigned in both Wareham and Lytchett in the weeks running up to the election said; "Despite the national shift towards the Conservatives, the hard work of David and Michael meant that in Mid Dorset and North Poole the Liberal Democrats are still going strong and working hard for local residents."

If you are a resident of the constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
