Annette Brooke MP, Cllr Fred Drane and Cllr Michael Peacock are petitioning to stop the library closure
Annette Brooke MP has called on the leader of Dorset County Council to keep promises made in a leaflet circulated by the Conservative candidate in the recent local election in Lytchett Matravers. The leaflet claimed that the local library was to be reprieved, although there is yet to be any meeting on the subject at Dorset County Council.
Annette Brooke wrote immediately to the County Council on the news of the proposed closures, pointing out how important Corfe Mullen and Lytchett Matravers library were to communities in her constituency. Annette is also supporting the petition by local Liberal Democrats to save Lytchett Matravers library.
"I am pleased that the Daily Echo is also involved in the campaign to save our libraries. Hopefully with a sustained campaign from local residents, Councillors and local press we can save our libraries." Annette Brooke
