Annette Brooke MP named NSPCC Ambassador

November 10, 2006 9:12 AM

NSPCCLocal MP Annette Brooke has been named as a Parliamentary Ambassador for the children's charity, the NSPCC.

Charlotte Smith, Parliamentary Advisor for the NSPCC, said:

"I am delighted to announce that Annette Brooke, Member of Parliament for Mid Dorset and North Poole, and Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Children, Young People and Families, has agreed to become an NSPCC Parliamentary Ambassador.

"Annette has worked very closely with the NSPCC in Parliament for many years, has spoken at numerous events for us and visited one of our projects last year. She is a firm supporter of our work and is a natural addition to our team in Parliament."

Annette Brooke said:

"It is a great honour to take on this official role with the NSPCC. It has been a pleasure to work with the organisation on so many important children's issues over the years.

"I look forward to becoming more involved with the NSPCC's work and continuing to fight for the protection of children around the UK."

If you are a resident of the constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
