Mid Dorset and North Poole Councillors in Purbeck and East Dorset are pleased that all the hard work paid off after full slate of successful re-elections.
In Purbeck, four Liberal Democrats were up for election in the wards of Upton East, Upton West, Wareham and St Martin. All four were re-elected and will continue to work hard all year round with Annette Brooke for their respective communities.
Across Purbeck District Council, the Liberal Democrats polled their highest share of the vote for 17 years and made one gain from the Conservatives. Many people asked why they voted Lib Dem this time said they recognised the hard work locally of sitting Liberal Democrat Councillors.
In East Dorset, ten Council seats were up for election, including Wimborne and Colehill, which will become part of Mid Dorset and North Poole at the next General Election. Liberal Democrats were returned to serve as Councillors in nine out of nine seats in Colehill, Corfe Mullen and Wimborne. Meanwhile candidate Michael Spencer-Smith made a strong showing in Colehill West against the incumbent Conservative.
