Commenting on Monday's report from the Children's Society which criticises Britain's 'greed culture' for damaging children's lives, Liberal Democrat Shadow Minister for Children, Annette Brooke said:
"Growing up in today's Britain is a real struggle for many children.
"This report shows the great need for extra school funding for children from the most disadvantaged backgrounds.
"Ministers need to act to make life less difficult for today's families. The need for increased early years parenting support coupled with more high-quality and affordable childcare has never been greater."
