'Government has neglected children's health' says Annette Brooke

Commenting on today's Government announcement on children's health, Liberal Democrat Children Spokesperson, Annette Brooke said:

"This Government has taken over a decade to wake up to the fact that we need more health visitors. Labour has been slashing numbers since it came to power in 1997.

"Ministers must now make assurances about how much extra money they will be committing to support children with mental health difficulties.

"Only one in four children with mental health problems currently get the help they need and this is an area that keeps being neglected.

"It looks like ministers are using strong words to disguise their weak actions again."
