Speaking yesterday in Parliament Annette Brooke MP for Mid Dorset and North Poole called upon Government ministers to support the Poole Remploy factory by encouraging a national approach to its public procurement contracts.
Annette remains concerned that Poole Remploy factory is not receiving support from local councils and the SW Regional Development Agency. The factory has in the past been scheduled to close and then granted a reprieve following a public procurement contract.
Commenting Annette said 'There is one message in Westminster and another locally - the outcome is that vulnerable disabled people are being badly let down.
In this current climate we need to ensure more than ever that this excellently trained workforce are able to survive. This means looking nationally at the issue.'
