Annette Brooke MP Wins £1000 of new books for local schools!

June 20, 2012 4:22 PM

Earlier this year, Annette Brooke, MP for Mid Dorset and North Poole, entered a prize draw amongst MPs and won first prize which was £1000 of children's books for a local school. The event was organised by Scholastic Books to publicise and promote World Book Day.

Annette decided to organise a further prize draw amongst all the schools in Mid Dorset and North Poole and also to divide the prize between 2 schools. The lucky schools were Colehill First School and Canford Heath Middle School. Both schools were able to choose a wide selection of books for their libraries.

Last week Annette was able to visit the schools and present them with their new books.

Annette said of the day: "It was wonderful to see all the new books being enjoyed by the children and to talk to them about their favourite books and why they like reading!"

If you are a resident of the constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
