Alex Brenton
Alex has lived in Morden for 40 years with her husband, Rob. This is where they raised their children, who attended local schools. She has worked in Farming and Horticulture all her life and is a professional gardener, currently an RHS tutor and Garden Consultant.
Experience
Alex is an active member of the local community and her love for the natural environment has led her to join various wildlife organisations. She has actively contributed to initiatives such as the Great Dorset Hedge Project and Planet Purbeck and is an active member of Dorset Plant Heritage.
In addition to representing the local area on Dorset council, Alex is the Chair of Morden Parish Council, and has been standing up for Lytchett Matravers, Upton and Morden on locaI and Dorset wide matters for many years. Alex wants to see our local community thrive and regularly organises litter picks around Morden. During the pandemic, Alex led the effort in coordinating community volunteers in the Parish response to Covid.
For many years, Alex has been campaigning for additional road safety measures at Morden Park corner, the A35 and safer quiet lanes for cyclists and walkers. Alex is interested in Planning Policy and speaks out regularly on the need for affordable housing and increased facilities in villages to match new housing.
Hobbies & Interests
Alex can often be found walking her dog Otis in the local area. She enjoys sea swimming, gardening, watching rugby and attending live music and Artsreach events.

Andrew Starr
Andrew was born and raised in Dorset. He moved to Upton where he has lived for the last 38 years, with his wife Wendy. This is where they brought up their two children, who attended the local schools. Before retiring, Andrew spent his career working as a telecommunications engineer, now he is a very active grandfather and enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.
Experience
Andrew has been representing local residents as a councillor on Dorset council for 5 years, and prior to this was a councillor on Purbeck council for 8 years. Andrew has always been an active member of his community. He is a founding member of the “Keep Upton Tidy” group, and organises regular litter picks around the area. Andrew has a strong commitment to improving and maintaining our local area and has the experience to get things done.
Andrew has always been interested in environmental issues, and has been speaking out on the sewage discharge in the local waters. Over the past few years, he has been running the Win on Waste community recycling project in Lytchett Matravers, with help from his ward colleague Alex and a group of dedicated volunteers. Andrew and Alex also led a campaign on reducing waste from blister packs, calling for a more sustainable alternative.
Hobbies & Interests
When he is not busy campaigning in the local community, Andrew enjoys bird watching and likes to go on bike rides around the local area. He is also a classic car enthusiast.

Steve Robinson
Steve, who moved to Upton in 2016, has worked in the community and voluntary sector all his life and recently retired from running the Dorset based charity Prama, overseeing various social care and community services such as clubs for those experiencing loneliness and isolation as well as community groups offering various activities from IT training to gardening.
Experience
Through his work, Steve has found his passion for helping communities become all age friendly and aims to be a trusted spokesperson for those who feel excluded and disadvantaged.
Steve is an avid campaigner and has spoken at Parliamentary groups on local issues including the cost of living crisis, broadband access and pension changes. Most recently, Steve has been campaigning for improved road safety around Lytchett Bay. He is not afraid to speak and campaign on behalf of his residents through his experience of regularly speaking at his local church and appearances on Radio 4 news programmes and local radio stations.
Steve has very recently become a local Town Councillor for Lytchett Minster and Upton, which he sees as an opportunity to continue the community work that he is passionate about on a local level at a time of increasing need.
Hobbies & Interests
Steve is a member of St Dunstan’s church in Upton. He has two (frequently muddy) dogs and is a keen adventurer and traveller.
