Steve Robinson
Steve, who moved to Upton in 2016, has worked in the community and voluntary sector all his life and recently retired from running the Dorset based charity Prama, overseeing various social care and community services such as clubs for those experiencing loneliness and isolation as well as community groups offering various activities from IT training to gardening.
Through his work, Steve has found his passion for helping communities become all age friendly and aims to be a trusted spokesperson for those who feel excluded and disadvantaged.
Steve is an avid campaigner and has spoken at Parliamentary groups on local issues including the cost of living crisis, broadband access and pension changes. Most recently, Steve has been campaigning for improved road safety around Lytchett Bay. He is not afraid to speak and campaign on behalf of his residents through his experience of regularly speaking at his local church and appearances on Radio 4 news programmes and local radio stations.
Steve has very recently been elected to represent the local area on Dorset Council as well as on the Lytchett Minster and Upton Town Council, which he sees as an opportunity to continue the community work that he is passionate about on a local level at a time of increasing need.
Steve is a member of St Dunstan’s church in Upton. He has two (frequently muddy) dogs and is a keen adventurer and traveller.
