Will Chakawhata
Will has lived in Dorset for the last 25 years along with his family, his children attend local schools. He has worked in the NHS for over two decades, first training as a mental health nurse, then progressing into senior leadership roles.
Working in the NHS, Will has seen first hand the impact that chronic underfunding from the Conservative government has had on our public services. Will wants to fight for more funding for our local GPs, dentists and police. Through his passion for making a difference to our community and his experience means he is bringing fresh approach to the Council.
Will has a proven track record of working in his community, from volunteering as a Magistrate in Dorset for over 10 years, to chairing one of the the scrutiny panels for the Police and Crime Commissioner. He has been instrumental in improving accountability and performance within Dorset Police.
Will is focused on using his skills and experience to directly improve facilities for local people of all ages.
In his spare time, Will enjoys taking walks past High Hall to Badbury Rings and Kingston Lacy, while listening to his favourite Jazz and Blues music. He can often be found cheering on his son’s football matches, who played for Sturminster Marshall for many years.
