When people talk about today’s town centres, it is rarely positive. They bemoan empty units, high rents, complain about charity shops and mutter about the excessive number of barbers and cafes.
During recent visits to food banks in both Wimborne and in BCP I shared my own food parcel story from 1977 when my dad was on the Firefighters Strike. I assumed our food had come from a food bank, so I was shocked to discover that Trussell Trust opened the first facility from a garden shed in Salisbury in the year 2000.
You would have thought that with the Government committing to reaching Net Zero greenhouse gases by 2050 that they would be doing everything they can to insist that all new homes generate their own power and minimise their use of heat, and that systems would be in place to help those in the fortunate position of purchasing a brand-new vehicle to ensure that it has zero emissions.
